if the account was banned by blizzard, how I can remove the banned account?

if the account was banned by blizzard, how I can remove the banned account?

Standard reply: First, the practice experience from u4game.com and the feedback information from above 2000 customers proved that: 95% of banned account owner can ask it back from blizzard
The method is :no matter blizzard banned it by what reason you may request the blizzard to provide
the reason and the evidence for banning, the blizzard couldn’t put out the evidence .
In fact the blizzard decided to ban the account only by that company’s suspicion .
it is irresponsible and doesn’t have reason.
Usually under the intense request of customer above three times .they will compromise to give the account back to the customer.

Mounts

Mounts

orld of Warcraft offers a variety of mounts for the different races of Azeroth. Humans, for example, generally ride horses, and Orcs tend to favor their trusted wolf mounts. A mount is a special type of permanent pet that a player can own. Using one requires the riding talent, and with extensive training, riding specialists will be able to use mounts not generally available to their particular race.
More than mere status symbols, mounts allow players to travel over land more quickly than on foot. When a player is mounted, he or she has full control over the mount. To avoid exploiting monsters, players cannot attack while mounted. Also, monsters are unable to attack mounts. Instead, when a player is mounted, all attacks and damage are directed at the player and not at the mount. If a player dies while on a mount, the mount will "unsummon" and be available for "resummoning" once the player reenters the world of the living.

Owning a mount is an impressive accomplishment in the game (not to mention the fact that it makes you look cool).

Talent Basics of wow

Talent Basics of wow

Once a character achieves tenth level, it will begin earning talent points at the rate of one per level. Talent points can then be spent at the Talents window. Every class has three lines of talents, not including a character’s racial talents list.
Talent points can be spent to purchase talents, which can do a variety of things. Many talents can improve your class’ existing abilities, give you new abilities, or improve your class skills. All classes have the same talent options, but no single character can hope to acquire every single talent. Thus, there are many talent choices open to your character, and your choices will help differentiate you from other players playing the same class.

WoW, this game has no skeletons

WoW, this game has no skeletons

Bones and skeletons have disappeared from the Chinese version of the popular online fantasy game, World of Warcraft (WoW), sparking fierce criticism from the nation's army of players.
Chinese mainland gamers have waited half a year longer than their US counterparts for the upgraded version of the WoW, only to find the appearances of familiar skeletal characters have been fleshed out.
The skeletons, regular characters, grow flesh in the new version and the bones symbolizing dead characters have been changed to graves.
A staff with the public relations department of The9, which runs WoW in China, was quoted by the Guangzhou-based Southern Metropolis Daily as saying the changes were made according to "China's particular situation and relevant regulations."
"It's to promote a healthy and harmonious online environment," the anonymous staff said, according to the newspaper.
However, Zhao Yurun, public relations director of The9, scoffed at the explanation in a talk with Xinhua, saying the changes were made as part of an "operational strategy."
He said the company updated the game seven to eight times each year, adding patches that required no government approval to the original version.
However, he said the changes in the latest version were the foundations for the first official expansion of WoW, "The Burning Crusade," which was awaiting approval from the State Press and Publication Administration (SPPA) and is expected to be released this summer.
"We hope the expansion pack will successfully get the approval in acknowledgement of the self-discipline of our company," Zhao said.
Wang Guoqing, director with the SPPA Video, Electronics and Internet Publication Management Department, said, "The Burning Crusade" was still under consideration of experts and she would not comment until a final decision was released.
The gamers thought the changes made the game dull and voiced their scorn on the official WoW Website, filling more than ten pages with criticism.
More than 500 gamers signed a post, announcing they would boycott the game.
"Why should we accept the so-called 'good appearance' without the opportunity of being consulted?" wrote player "Cai Xu."
"We don't need such harmony," wrote "Xue Linglong."
Wang Cong, a journalist who has played the game for two years, said he would continue to play, but "I just think it's funny to make such meaningless changes."
Zhao said the company had received no formal complaints from gamers, which should be delivered by letters or phone calls with the petitioners real names.
The monster-killing game, first launched by California-based Blizzard Entertainment in 2004, is one of the most popular online role-playing games involving multiple players. It has 8.5 million players worldwide, with over 3.5 million in China.

China Starts War with World of Warcraft Addicts

China Starts War with World of Warcraft Addicts

Chinese authorities are targeting a national crackdown on online gamers who spend more than 3 hours daily playing, in an attempt to tone down the youngster’s addiction to popular sagas like World of Warcraft.
It seems that the “get a life!” expression is highly recommended for Chinese teenagers these days, since most of them tend to forget their “social responsibilities”. According to Chinadaily, the communist government in the most populous country in the world has begun a national crackdown on Internet cafés that provide access to games like World of Warcraft, Dungeon’s and Dragons or Lineage.
It’s the latest attempt made by the government to cope with teenagers’ increasing interest for fantasy worlds and for the freedom of expression they provide.
President Hu Jintao ordered regulators in January to promote a “healthy online culture” to protect the government’s stability, according to state media. In April, Hu was quoted in state media as urging Communist Party leaders to “curb the spread of decadent and backward ideological and cultural material online.”
According to National Business Daily, China has more than 30 million online gamers, 10% of them being under aged. The government seeks not to totally forbid gaming, but to promote a healthy Internet use: “measured gaming is good for the brain, but gaming addiction hurts the body.”

Currently, out of the more than 8 million World of Warcraft players reported by Blizzard, 3.5 are Chinese, making Blizzard’s creation the most popular online game in the South Asian country.
Central authorities have imposed local Chinese authorities to decline the authorization of any new Internet café in the country, all the way until the end of 2007. Moreover, tougher regulations introduced on Monday, July 16, force gaming companies operating inside Chinese borders to implement a screening program that requires online gamers to enter their identification card numbers.
The program then monitors the online time of players identified as under 18 and prompts them at the three-hour mark with a message asking them to stop and “do suitable physical exercise,” according to China Daily. The software monitor slashes by half the points of underage players if they keep playing beyond three hours, and wipes their points out completely if they stay on more than five hours.

Chinese workers make money playing games for Americans

Chinese workers make money playing games for Americans

In a Shanghai office building, a visitor from San Diego encountered a roomful of young Chinese, working 12- to 18-hour days - playing online computer games. "The thing it reminded me of was a factory," said Ge Jin. "But then you see the computer screens."These are "gold farms," 21st century sweatshops without the perspiration - they are air-conditioned for the computers, not the people. Jin, who has toured dozens of these establishments while pursuing a communications Ph.D. through University of California San Diego, maintains they add a bizarre, high-tech twist to our understanding of the global economy. Everyone knows that high-paying American jobs have been exported to low-wage workers abroad. But gold farms demonstrate that even our play can be outsourced. "Farmers" spend all day acquiring gold coins, weapons and powers - and then peddle these virtual items for actual currency, usually to gamers in the West. "Exporting virtual items through the Internet is the same as transmitting Chinese labor to America," one Shanghai gold farm owner told Jin in a 2005 video interview. Jin agreed: "They are almost like virtual immigrant workers." And just like real immigrant workers, these virtual laborers arouse deep emotions. "There's a lot of distrust of gold farmers," said Chad Newman, 28, a Lakeside, Calif., resident who plays "World of Warcraft" online four to five hours a day. "People see them as a bad influence." Jin, 31, is a Shanghai native who came to the United States in 2000. He spent one year in New York City, earning a master's degree from Fordham, then headed west to UCSD. His research has turned the slight academic into a global expert on gold farming, his views sought by the BBC, MTV and The New York Times. He's a natural, with Shanghai friends and family giving him entree into many of the city's gold farms - and free places to stay. But he retains an open mind toward this subject, its pros and cons. What happens when your mindless play becomes your underpaid work? "Is that double exploitation?" he asked. "I don't think it is all one way or the other. It is a mixture. (But) it is a dead-end job. For these young people, if they have better opportunities, it will be better for them." Jin began his research in 2003, as farms were popping up in several foreign locations including, briefly, Tijuana, Mexico. But most are in China, with its reliable Internet service and vast pool of young, unskilled, but computer-savvy workers. "Honestly, I don't think my future is promising," a gold farmer named Lao Liu told Jin. "I didn't graduate from high school. To be good in business, you have to know English. And it's better if you have foreign connections, so you can directly trade with foreign gamers. "Without all these, I can only work at the bottom of this industry."
420)?'420px':'auto'}" alt="" src="http://static.flickr.com/99/268531176_21fa9791cb_m.jpg" align=left>This may be a low-paying job - farm hands earn roughly 30 cents an hour - but it has appeal. "We can play the best and newest games in the world," Lao Liu said. "They are having fun," Jin noted. In fact, after a long day on the farm, many players go to Internet cafes to play online games. "Fun" is also cited by Americans who use the farmers' services. For the average gamer, "World of Warcraft" requires months of steady play to acquire advanced powers. But for a relatively minor sum, the same powers can be purchased. "I am happy paying .00 US dollars for 200 gold" pieces, reads one anonymous posting to Jin's web site. "It's better than spending 138 days doing this. Sorry, no moral problems here." Other gamers disagree. It's unfair, they say, for players to buy their way to victory. "As a player, I don't want to do it," said Michael Nguyen, a recent Cal State San Marcos graduate who works at Mudd Club, a gamers' center in San Diego. "I want to try to earn stuff myself in the game." Moreover, the farmers' frenetic activity has flooded the market with virtual coins, playing havoc with the online economy. "The price of virtual commodities fluctuates very much," Jin said. For a lesson in online gaming economics, visit ige.com and mogs.com, described by Jin as "the Wal-Marts of virtual goods." Recently, ige.com's exchange rate was 200 gold coins for .06. Prices were marginally lower at mogs.com: 200 coins for .77. As MMORPGs - that's geekspeak for Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games - become less like games and more like businesses, resentment rises against gold farmers. Blizzard, the company that makes "World of Warcraft," forbids players from using the game to make money. Newman frequently alerts the company's "game masters" to suspicious activity. "I tell them, 'You may want to inspect these accounts.'" Last year, Blizzard banned 50,000 Chinese accounts linked to gold farming. Other players take direct action. Recently, Nguyen and several friends cornered a "boss," a monster in "World of Warcraft." By killing the creature, they would reap a bonanza in virtual coins. But as they battled the beast, they were surrounded by farmers. "They were waiting for us to take out the boss and then kill us," Nguyen said. "And they did." Nguyen revived his online character, gathered more friends and ambushed a single farmer. "Then we all ganged up and killed him. The whole point was payback." Is virtual violence merely shrewd gamesmanship? Or are there moral issues here? "World of Warcraft" claims 8.5 million players around the globe; do their actions in a fantasy realm reflect their character in the real world? "What they want to offer," Jin said of these online games, "is a virtual life. It's still a game. But it's a life game. "What sort of virtual person do you want to be?"

Where is the starting area for Death Knights in World of Warcraft?

Where is the starting area for Death Knights in World of Warcraft?

Tags: Blizzard, Nethaera Quite a few players have been asking where Death Knights will be starting out in World of Warcraft. Will the characters be simply lumped together with characters of the same level in Wrath of the Lich King or will they have their own spawning area?
Apparently, Blizzard has not decided upon this yet. Blizzard Poster/ Community Manager Nethaera said that they're still considering different approaches to the issue. They're taking their time on this because they "want to find a way to give people an experience when working on becoming a Death Knight so that they understand the lore of it and learn how to play it both."
This is great since it gives players an opportunity to appreciate the lore behind this often misunderstood class. Hopefully, Blizzard will be able to show the gravity of becoming a Death Knight to players, and the consequences that go with all its power.

World of Warcraft TCG Fires of Outland now available

World of Warcraft TCG Fires of Outland now available

For those who have been waiting for the latest World of Warcraft Trading Card Game (TCG) expansion, Fires of Outland, the wait is finally over.
Upper Deck Entertainment has released Fires of Outland. It contains a total of 249 cards (that's 246 for abilities, quests, equipment, among other stuff, plus three loot cards). If you're really lucky, you might pull out a Spectral Tiger loot card - and maybe be US$ 2,000 richer if you put it up on eBay. Though it might actually be better to keep the Spectral Tiger to yourself, imagine the cool points.
Anyway, you better cross you fingers and take out your lucky horse shoe or four-leaf clover. A mount is in there in one of those Fires of Outland packs. Stay tuned for more World of Warcraft news and info.

World of Warcraft takes a look back at its MMORPG roots

World of Warcraft takes a look back at its MMORPG roots

One of the relatively newer genres in the gaming industry is the MMORPG. It's advent goes back to as far as the 1990s when games such as Ultima Online and EverQuest popularized the concept of an online gaming community where people can band together and bash random critters for experience and gold.
One of the most popular MMORPGs to date is Blizzard's phenomenal World of Warcraft, which has a subscriber count of at least 8.5 million worldwide. However, it owes a lot of its existence to its proverbial forefathers. Conditions back then were considerably different for such a budding game genre to grow.
In 1999, Ubisoft introduced EverQuest to the German market. A lot of hindrances such as the limitations of technology, as well as the relatively high costs of online fees made its rise to popularity quite slow compared to today's standards. Peaking at 500,000 subscribers, many consider EverQuest as the one which paved the way for the MMORPG genre to take flight.
Karsten Lehmann, a spokesman for Ubisoft, relates their past difficulties: "It's hard for players today who are accustomed to the idea of flat rate Internet access to remember how complicated this kind of stuff was at the time".
It was only during 2004 that Blizzard capitalized on the growing fame of the new gaming genre and launched World of Warcraft into the MMORPG giant it is today. It took all the elements that gave EverQuest its massive appeal and simplified it for users everywhere to enjoy. It goes without saying that Blizzard definitely struck gold here.
Today, more and more gaming companies are riding on the ever growing community of online gamers. With the genre continually growing in depth and dynamics, who knows what the next wave of online games can bring.

Beyond the Untamed Horizon

Beyond the Untamed Horizon
ess than twenty years ago, the orcs' former homeworld, Draenor, was ripped apart by the violent energies of several dimensional portals that tore the very fabric of the planet to pieces. This catastrophic event left Draenor a broken, shattered world that the survivors came to call Outland. To this day, some parts of Outland are still unreachable by foot or boat, floating eerily on the horizon as silent reminders of the terrible fate that befell Draenor. Yet the denizens of Outland have adapted and learned to harness some of the indigenous species as flying mounts, allowing adventurers to reach even the most remote and dangerous regions of this wild, untamed world.
One of the most exciting new features of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade will be the introduction of a new kind of mount that will provide players with unprecedented freedom to explore the world of Outland from an entirely new perspective. After reaching level 70, players will eventually be able to obtain a flying mount for their characters. Outland is home to incredibly varied and exotic fauna, and the sentient inhabitants of this world have trained several unique creatures as flying mounts. Both Horde and Alliance will have their own special type of mount, but there are also mounts that will be extremely rare even among the most powerful characters. The nether drake is one of these.
With flying mounts, players will be able to take to the skies, to soar among the crimson clouds of Hellfire Peninsula or watch as Nagrand's sea of grass swaying in the breeze far below as they make their way to new lands. Players will have full control over their flying mounts, allowing them to roam the skies and freely explore all regions of Outland. In fact, certain areas of Outland will only be accessible by air, as some parts of the ruined world are floating out in the void, unreachable except by those who command one of Outland's flying creatures.
A few of these "unlockable" areas are actually located near some of the lower-level regions of Outland; a player's journey will take them through the Dark Portal to the very ends of Outland and finally back to where they started, thus completing the circle – but now they will be able to access regions that were previously only viewable from a distance. Some dungeons also feature wings that can't be reached without a flying mount, and this should provide players with a profound sense of advancement after having gained considerable experience, new abilities, and powerful weapons and armor. In a way, the flying mount represents the most tangible accomplishment of a character's progress up to level 70, but it also serves as a key to the content that awaits players beyond the maximum level.

Top 15 Things Every World of Warcraft Player Should Know:

wow my experience
By u4game
Top 15 Things Every World of Warcraft Player Should Know:

Keep this checklist handy - it could save your life (or at least have you doing less frequent corpse runs).
OK. You've gone and done it. You've bought yourself a copy of World of Warcraft. You've installed the game, set up you're account and watched the super-cool opening cinematic. If you're new to MMO's or even if you're an MMO veteran, though, you're probably saying "Now what?" Well that's where your friends at GameSpy are stepping in to help. For this week's Top Ten, we've compiled a list of hints, tips and pieces of information every player needs to know. In fact, we're even giving you a little bonus. Because there are two main sides, we're giving you the Top 15 things World of Warcraft players need to know - 5 each for Alliance players, Horde players and 5 that apply to everybody!
The Alliance

1: Looking to solo? Get yourself a Night Elf Hunter or a Warlock.
While there isn't any one particular character template that works perfectly for soloing, this is about the best that there is on the Alliance side. First, there really isn't any equal level monster in the game that a properly tricked out Hunter can't tackle one-on-one without breaking a sweat. While Warlocks are a bit more fragile, they have an excellent complement of damage dealing spells that will let them survive - albeit while taking more damage. Unfortunately, many creatures will attack in groups if they notice one of their buddies getting pounded on (Elite creatures are particularly nasty with this).
That's where pets come in, Any "Pet" class can use their animal (or demonic) companion to do what's called "crowd control" - basically pulling one creature away from a group and a time and killing it. The Warlock's Void Walker is particularly good at this. Night Elves quest lines at low levels are also pretty self-contained within the geographically isolated Teldrassil, meaning you never have far to run to reach a quest destination or to retrieve your corpse.
2: Gnomes have the best (worst) dancing emotes.
Trust us on this one. Simply typing /dance into the game while playing as a gnome will show you what we mean. Gnome dancing is the most offensive thing in Azeroth - rumor has it that the Horde offers 10 gold pieces to anyone who can actually manage to kill a Gnome in PvP during a dance. Therefore it makes Gnomes perfect for role-players who want to annoy other players and have a good laugh.
3: Everyone loves a Human Priest.
This is the perfect class for players looking to group. Humans' racial talents help a Priest hold his or her own in combat and there isn't a group alive that isn't thrilled when a Priest shows up just before heading into an Elite dungeon or an instance. Priests are also pretty rare in the game, there aren't really all that many players who enjoy taking on the social/support roles, so your skills will always be in demand - and you'll level pretty fast.
4: You don't have follow the quest lines for your own race!
One of the biggest misconceptions that new players have about World of Warcraft is that quests are restricted by race - in other words, that if you're playing a Human, you must take the "Human" quests in Elwynn Forest when you start out. That's simply not true. Players can take any level-appropriate quest regardless of their race. For Alliance players looking to level up a bit faster, there is a bit of a shortcut. Simply head to the hub cities of Ironforge or Stormwind as soon as you're strong enough to get out of the newbie zone (around level 5). From there, find the passage to Teldrassil, the Night Elf homeland and start collecting quests. Teldrassil is very small, contains the hub city of Darnassus that offers every service, and players rarely have to run far to complete quests. You'll find yourself at level 10 or even higher in no time!
5: The Alliance means more content, but more people.
For whatever reason, the Alliance races as a whole (Humans, Night Elves, Dwarves, and Gnomes) are more popular with players. This can often mean severe crowding in popular regions along with what we like to call "mass extinction events". That basically means that several quests in the area that require players to kill a particular animal may make it hard to find that animal for a while - and that you may be racing other players who are standing around waiting for them to spawn. The good news is that the Alliance has a lot more quest-based content than the Horde. While this isn't noticeable at the earlier levels, many Horde players often find themselves running low on quests around level 25-30 and being forced to just "farm" random creatures for experience.
The Horde

1: You will end up in the Barrens - accept it.
Throughout the beta process, the one zone that everybody complained about the most was the Barrens, a level 15-20 zone that is quite literally in the center of everything for the Horde. As a result, this zone has the dubious distinction of undergoing almost constant revisions. The good news is, it's much better than it was - the bad news is, it can still be long and tedious. The thing is, most Horde quest lines eventually send players to the Barrens and it contains access to one of the neutral towns where Horde and Alliance players can get together, so the place is absolutely crawling with players. While that can be good for making friends, it's also the place that's the most hunted and overcrowded on the Horde side. Unfortunately, the Barrens is just a fact of life for Horde players - better to go, do what needs to be done, and get out.
2: Want to get to level 10 quickly? Visit dead people.
More accurately, visit Undead people. Since Quests aren't race specific, players can accept any level appropriate quest regardless of their race. That means that Horde players have access to a slight shortcut to level 10 similar to the one enjoyed by Alliance players. In the Horde's case it means hightailing it to the Orc hub city of Orgrimmar as soon as you can survive the trip and catching a zeppelin ride to Tirisfal Glades. Head south from the zeppelin tower to the Undead town of Brill and start looking for quests. Like Teldrassil for Night Elves, the quests in Brill are a bit easier and can usually be solved without a tremendous amount of traveling, significantly shortening your trip to level 10.
3: The Horde has the best and worst hub cities in the game.
Both sides in World of Warcraft have three hub cities designed for players to congregate, buy and sell items, and deal with NPC vendors and trainers. The Horde is blessed with the best and cursed with one of the worst hub cities in the game. The best city to do business with NPCs in is the Undead Undercity. If you have a choice of heading to one hub city, this is the one to pick. It's the smallest major city, meaning you don't have to do a tremendous amount of running to get to the shops you want. The city is also basically a circle - meaning it's almost impossible to get lost. Orgrimmar, the Orc hub city, on the other hand, is incredibly confusing, with twisting paths that sometime loop back on themselves. Orgrimmar means a lot of running and it's all too easy to get lost. It's also kind of the center of the universe for Horde players, so you really do need to learn it if you hope to use the auction or make new friends.
4: Tired of fighting for elbow room? Join the Horde!
For some odd reason, players seem to choose to play as Alliance characters far more often than as Horde characters. The good news for Horde players, though, is that fewer players mean fewer people jockeying for resources. Even the Barrens, probably the most crowded Horde region, never see the problems with "mass extinction events" that routinely plague the Alliance. If you're interested in questing and not interested in hanging around with ten other people (at peak hours) waiting for a monster spawn, why not join the Horde?
5: The Undead are just psychotically cool!
While everyone has their own opinion, ours is that no World of Warcraft race gets as many "coolness points" as the Undead. First, the character models are just a riot with hairstyles that literally defy physics and a facial customization options straight out of the Velvet Dungeon. The designers also clearly had a ball putting the Undead lands together because every area and storyline within the Undead zones is filled with clever asides and subtle (and not so subtle) humor about the Forsaken's unusual situation. Role-players will also enjoy playing the Undead since they're as close as any World of Warcraft race comes to being "evil". True - they are an oppressed minority, but they're also planning universal genocide, so you make your own call.
Everyone!
1: Read your Quest Journal!
Now we hate to snipe here, people, but the "L" key on your keyboard opens up your Quest Journal. This handy-dandy little item contains literally all the information you need to solve whatever quest your given. Check it early and check it often because if you're cluttering up the "General" chat channel asking "Where's the Wailing Caverns?" 47 times not only will you learn all sort of new Azerothian insults, but when you eventually find the place, it's not going to win you any friends when you then start looking for a group to explore with. Your Quest Journal has directions so precise they make MapQuest look vague to avoid precisely this situation. Read your Quest Journal! Read your Quest Journal! Read your Quest Journal!
2: The City Guards are your friends - use them well.
This is kind of an adjunct to the whole "Read your Quest Journal" thing, but the other thing that clogs up the general chat channels is people asking for directions in the hub cities. Fortunately Blizzard has come up with a simple solution - just ask a city guard! They'll give you directions to everything in the city and even provide you with a little flag in your mini-map! You know, the employment situation in Azeroth must be pretty bad when you consider that most of these guards are level 75 or so and can easily wipe out virtually every monster in the game and they're taking the time out of their busy schedule to help you. The least you can do is avail yourself of their services. I don't even think they get paid!
3: Every trade skill has a complement.
Players can only learn two "professional" trade skills (Fishing, Cooking, First Aid and a few others don't count). Be aware that with the exception of Enchanting and Tailoring, every trade skill has a "gathering" skill and a "crafting" skill. Blacksmithing, for example, requires raw materials that can only be retrieved by Mining. Be sure you select the appropriate skill; otherwise you will end up buying raw materials at auction or trying to trade your raw materials for finished goods.
4: The NumLock key is your autorun.
This should be obvious, but you'd be surprised how many players forget to use their autorun. Autorun is your best friend, though. During long runs you can be checking your quest log, futzing with your inventory, or chatting with friends. Use it!
5: Control your Pets!
This, of course, only applies to pet classes (Warlocks and Hunters), but if we had a gold piece for every Warlock and Hunter who left his pet on "Aggressive" we'd - well, we'd have a lot of gold pieces. Your pets are tools. They're used for very specific purposes. Putting them on Aggressive lets them attack indiscriminately and can draw a lot more monster attention than your group is ready to deal with. All too often a pet on the loose means death for the group and a long, boring corpse run.

HOW TO PVP

HOW TO PVP

we who are about to die, salute you!” shouts our PvP team “Pigcat Rawr” as we charge the door. What is Hogit the raider doing in an arena? - showing the nubs how it’s done! First rule of arena combat is show gnome mercy. In this skirmish I cornered a ferocious SomePig and showed it who is BossHoggs! Always focus fire down important classes first, like SomePigs, Gnomes, and naked Protection Warriors sporting X-52 Rocket Helmets.
This trick I picked up quite fast, it works extremely well if you have an Disgusting Oozeling, and are a Dwarf or Gnome. As the oozeling colors your flag green, crouch in the enemy summoned soulwell. Not only are you behind enemy lines, as only the top of your flag sticks out you are easily camouflaged and ready to launch a surprise attack. You can thank me later for your 2500 point arena rating boost.
Lastly if you are going to die, die with honor, or at least style. Take note of the position of Hogit’s corpse and the flag through the face. If this doesn’t turn your enemy’s stomachs nothing will, except for maybe staring directly at Snizatch the ugliest Gnome ever created. Hopefully these tips can help you as they helped me acquire an awesome PvE shield Merciless Gladiator's Shield Wall from PvP, way to go Blizzard!

RvR and server location

RvR and server location

By u4game
RvR and server location World of Warcraft has US servers, European servers, Asian server, and they are all strictly separated. For example with my European client I can only access the European servers, I can't play on the US ones. For a PvE game with a raiding end-game this makes perfect sense. Most people are online in the evening in their time zone. So if everyone on the server comes from the same time zone plus/minus one, it is easy to organize a raid together. If I bought a US WoW client and account (which is only possible via an intermediate broker) and joined a US raiding guild, their raids would start at 3 am in the morning for me, which wouldn't be very practical. I left a very nice multi-game US guild once, just because I rarely got to see the guys.So localized servers have the advantage that most players play at the same time. The disadvantage is that most players play at the same time. :) That means that during certain times the server is more or less dead, because everyone is sleeping. Not only does that mean the game company is having costs for resources that aren't used half of the time, but it also becomes problematic if the game is a realm vs. realm PvP game. If a game like Dark Age of Camelot has PvP objectives like castles which in the absence of player defenders are only defended by weak NPCs, guilds whose players need little sleep start staging raids in the middle of the night. Imagine your realm/faction/nation captured a castle during prime time at immense effort and heavy losses, only to lose it at 5 am to a small bunch of guys sneaking in through the back door against little resistance from NPCs.Anyone know whether Warhammer Online plans to have localized or international servers? I think for a RvR game international servers would be better, because it is always prime time somewhere in the world. When the players from one continent are sleeping, the players of another continent are playing, and defending the realm. And whenever you play at unusual times, you meet people online from foreign countries, which is nice. Another advantage of international servers is that you can find groups even at odd times. The only disadvantage is that the servers have to be physically somewhere, so the ping to the different continents is never the same. You'd think that fractions of a second difference in pings wouldn't matter, but in Final Fantasy XI the forums were full of Americans complaining that the Japanese had an unfair advantage in grabbing rare mobs, because they had 0.2 seconds faster ping.

Game design causes guild behavior

Game design causes guild behavior

By u4game

Game design causes guild behavior Via Sweet Flag I found an older post I had missed over at Mind Bending Puzzles, which then lead me to a post at Hardcore Casual. What these posts have in common is that they are talking about guilds, and especially Syncaine's post on Hardcore Casual about "the sickness that was WoW raiding" is very revealing. I know exactly what he is talking about. Even if my raid schedule was never 7 nights a week, I did the whole MC / Onyxia / BWL thing too ad nauseam.Recently an anonymous (!) commenter was taunting me saying how funny it was that a guy who gets over 2,000 readers a day on his blog can't even find enough people to guild / group with. That comment, and many other things you can read in various blogs about guilds are all based on the common misconception that it is the quality of the people that determines how good, powerful, and pleasant to play with a guild is. I disagree with that. While there are certainly jerks and immature people who can ruin guild life (see previous post), a major part of guild behavior is determined by game design. If you read 100 stories about World of Warcraft guild dramas, you will find the same problems appearing over and over again. The same "my casual guild broke up because some people wanted to go raiding", the same "we had a great 40-man raid guild going, but now Karazhan 10-man raids are splitting the guild apart". Or as mbp says: "The fact is that WOW's end game destroys guilds. In particular it destroys friendly casual guilds, the kind of guild I want to play with. I still haven't forgiven WOW for that." If you read guild drama stories of games that work different, like EVE, you'll see a set of completely different storeis. The EVE stories resemble each other, but they don't resemble the WoW stories, because different game design causes different guild behavior. There are certainly a couple of exceptional guilds that manage to break the pull of game design, but the average WoW guild follows a path where even the drama is predictable. It just evolves naturally out of a combination of basic human nature (which is eternal) and game design (which depends on the specific game). We can only hope that future MMORPGs offer more to guilds than just a chat channel and the lure of phat loot from raiding. It would be great to have a system where cooperation was more beneficial to all involved, where helping newbies would be an advantage also to more experienced players, and where a guild could have common projects that didn't involve everyone being online from 8 pm to 2 am, 5 to 7 nights a week. There isn't much hope for values such a loyalty if the game design is such that guild hopping is the most efficient course of action.
